Ngā Whetū o Matariki - Wooden Puzzle

Each piece is a clever and beautiful depiction of a star created by artist Xoë Hall (Kāi Tahu). Each incorporates colours, aspects and symbols that reflect the significance of each star. For example, Waitī is connected to fresh water, and tuna (eels) are woven into the depiction as hair.
When the puzzle blocks are removed, a specially coloured space remains in the cavity, where the whetū's name is written.
