TIPU ON KICKSTARTER: LInk here!

Help us bring TIPU to life - a new Māori word game designed to make learning te reo feel joyful, social and achievable for everyone.

At Kura Rēhia, we believe language learning works best when it’s playful and shared. After seeing thousands of whānau and classrooms fall in love with our first game, Kaupapa, we set out to create something especially for beginners - a lively, confidence-building starting point for te reo Māori.

In TIPU, players act, describe, and guess Māori words across four rounds of play. You use the same words each round, so they naturally sink in, but Māui’s mischievous challenges keep every game fresh, funny and full of surprises.

We’ve made sure the care put into the game carries all the way through production, using FSC®-certified paper, and thoughtful materials with Papatūānuku in mind.

Every card features original illustrations by Sara Moana, with design by Maimoa Creative and te reo expertise from Hēmi Kelly. We’re using this Kickstarter to fund the first print run of TIPU and make it accessible to whānau and kura across Aotearoa and beyond.

By backing this project, you’re helping more people in Aotearoa grow their reo - one game, one laugh, one kupu at a time.
