See you at Toitū te Reo!

We are proud to be part of Toitū te Reo, the Māori language festival, this year!

If you're coming, some say kia ora!!!

13–14 November 2025 at Toitoi, Heretaunga | Hastings

Watch Āio’s short video with the details 🎈

We will have two new games for you to play! One for beginners & tamariki, and one full of kupu whakarite and reo huahuatau for people who love the poetics of te reo Māori :)

You’ll find us in the free street festival, in a tent near the kai stalls and mokopuna space, sharing our two new games:

🌱 TIPU – perfect for beginners learning te reo and tamariki

✨ WEU – a playful dive into kupu whakarite - Māori metaphors

Celebrate te reo Māori with wānanga, kai, art, music, kapa haka, comedy, live performances, and kēmu reo Maōri!

Come play with us at Kura Rēhia — let’s celebrate te reo together!

Discussions will tackle the most pressing issues for te reo Māori today, from bridging the reo divide, raising children with te reo at home, and the evolution of dialects, to challenges of tokenism, accessibility, and creating genuine pathways for all learners.
The programme also explores innovation through AI, the role of whānau and rangatahi, and the resilience needed to keep the reo thriving. Alongside these courageous conversations, audiences will experience the vitality of te reo through live performances, debates, waiata composition panels, and creative showcases, leaving attendees inspired, challenged, and energised.
